Personal Note About My Overall Skill / Experience
I must admit I am not the most experienced nor knowledgeable analyst in the world. However with all the tools available out there, I have been able to work through many problems I would never have been able to figure out on my own. Between Kaggle, GitHub, ChatGPT, Google searches, Stack Overflow, and other publicly available sources, I believe that just about any issue can be overcome with a little perseverance and open mindedness. Beyond that I have a personal network of data and IT professionals that I also find quite helpful for some of my issues.
I am committed to Data Analytics and passionate about what I do. I am a bit of a perfectionist, which sometimes can be inhibiting. But it can also be a strength. When I care about something I care about doing it right, a lesson learned the hard way as a kid growing up with a step-father with a military and farm boy background, also one of the hardest working individuals I’ve ever met.
I would particularly like to work in an industry I care about such as travel, outdoor / adventure, gaming, finance, education, or something that helps the world (social wellness programs, combat climate change, etc.). Preferably a role where I can learn more and utilize some visualization tools, as I do really enjoy making beautiful and useful visualizations. I also enjoy learning coding and languages in general. I am conversational in Korean and Spanish, and currently learning Vietnamese, which is definitely the most difficult language I’ve tried to learn. As with learning any language, the process is usually difficult, but very rewarding when you see the results. As for coding languages I’m pretty comfortable with SQL and focusing on progressing my Python skills now. I practice both daily.
For me, my proudest piece of work I have created as a data analyst is my Strength Sync Dashboard on Tableau Public. I am in the process of turning that into a website (and later app) to allow users to input their data directly or plug-in their workout data via various apps and my site will scrape their data, input and clean it, and then give them their own personal dashboard. Check out more info on my page dedicated to it here.
